"What were you doing on 9/11/2001?"

I was working at The Times in Wapping, London. Not far away from where this picture was taken.

It was a horrific but one of those days when newspapers come into their own. We spiked everything we had prepared before the news broke and started again from scratch. In the end I think we were only an hour late off stone.
