Accies

Since CyclopsJnr has started coming to Minis at Accies, we thought we'd go and see one of the club games - this one the season opener against Jed Forest.

CyclopsJnr met some of his friends from Minis there and spent more time messing around with them than watching the game, but he seemed to have a good afternoon and enjoyed the bits he watched!

There was some cracking rugby with some thrilling open play.  Every single point scored came from tries and conversions too - not a single point from penalties.  Result - Accies won 45-19.

There are worse ways to spend the afternoon.

I went on to experiment with several of them with a minor vehicular breakdown, a minor vehicular collision, and stepping in a large pile of dog poo while dealing with the consequences of the previous incidents.  Still, no lasting harm done, all now resolved...

I have no particular knowledge of or interest in tennis, but from social media it seemed that something a bit special was happening this evening so I tuned in to the tail end of the US Women's Open to watch British 18-year-old Emma Raducanu win!  It seems like a bit of a fairytale story of a new player with no expectations breaking into the tournament through qualifying and carrying on unbeaten through the final, and she seemed appropriately delighted.  A nice way to end the day.
