Hitching a ride

Mr M and I took a trip to Comrie today, a nice little village about 45 minutes drive from here. It was the last day of the open studios and Comrie has a lot of artists exhibiting their stuff. There's one artist, Jonathan Sainsbury, who I like to visit each year who does beautiful ( and out of my price range) wildlife paintings. He usually exhibits in the church but this time it was in his workshop in his back garden which felt a bit more intimate! He's a lovely guy to chat to and has a pet starling which he hand reared when it fell from the nest as a pink blob and imprinted on him and his wife.
Afterwards we went for a walk in some beautiful old woods where the moss was so thick and lush that you sank into it. Thought this was an interesting find. Not sure what the brown fungi is but it is growing out of a mazegill, a kind of bracket fungus. Lunch at Comrie croft on the way home.
