Playing folk songs at St Laurence's churchyard
Late in the morning I ventured outside The Shambles indoor market to get a breath of fresh air. The back door of the church hall opens onto the churchyard of St Laurence. I walked a few yards to get a better view under the yew tree and over a few gravestones.
These musicians were playing plaintive folk tunes, one of which I vaguely recognised. I rather liked the fact that they chose not to busk in the main street but chose a quieter location, perhaps because their delicate acoustic instruments and voices could be heard better. I went back into the hall and fetched some coins and returned to give them a donation, which they well deserved.
