Just Waiting.....

Normal life resumed....

Food shopping and a visit to see dad.

And back to our usual place for a short walk this afternoon. We expect to see at least one heron on the weir at the far end of the lake and we weren't disappointed. 

What we were surprised by was the re-emergence of Great Crested Grebes. They've been absent for a while but we now know why. We spotted one pair with a family of 4 chicks and then another with 2 chicks. Both sets of adults were working hard to keep them supplied with fish. But the local seagulls were in waiting too. We didn't see them steal any fish though. And once the fish was transferred successfully to one of their young it took a matter of seconds for it to be gulped down!
