Not all about the biscuits!
Today we left Aberfeldy and went to Abernethy. A lovely and very interesting place. Another one! We are finding plenty of them to keep us happy!
Mike has an insatiable appetite for Abernethy biscuits and was a tad disappointed to find they aren't made here, and never were. Still, we found out all about them in the very informative and well presented village museum. It covered all aspects of village life, had indoor and outdoor exhibits, a toilet, and welcomed dogs!
The village also has a round tower, one of only two in Scotland, the other being in Brechin. This one has a gold coloured fish on the top. While we waited for the museum to open, we had a lunch of clootie dumpling and ice cream! Ooh, it was good!!
Found another interesting Pictish stone and an angel in the kirk yard too. A really good day. Yes, another one!
