Chicory

I do not know what it was like in other countries during the First and Second World Wars, but in Sweden, chicory was used as a coffee substitute because there were almost no coffee imports then. Personally, however, I have never tasted that surrogate coffee. Now I only picked a few wild chicory and also not the roots, so I continue to buy my coffee in the shop.
