The Saddlery

this old abandoned house on harbour street was built in 1890 as the saddlery.
while taking its photo, i imagined long ago horses tied to posts where the picket fense now casts its diagonal shadows.
i walked to the back of the house, and if i tried very hard i could smell the strong scent of newly-tanned rawhide being shaped into tack and saddles for the transportation of the times.
