A day out to Basel for K1’s birthday meal at an Italian restaurant, and a walk through the city and a visit to Basel Minster, resting place of Erasmus, the Dutch philosopher and theologian whose name adorns the European exchange programme that first supported K2’s studies in Berlin. Sad loss that the UK government no longer participates.
