Esha Ness

Went up to Esha Ness, the third time we've been so didn't feel the need to examine everything in detail.
Sat on the rocks on the seaward side of the lighthouse, watching the incoming tide crash against the stacks, walked the half-mile length of Calder's Geo and back in bright breezy weather.

The lighthouse is now a private house but, assuming no-one was home (no car parked) I went into the compound for a closer view.
I can't find any detail about this capstan-mounted sundial, which bears a dedication to Mostyn, 1980-1993. I hope he was a pet rather than a child.

We have just dined at The Dowry - delicious flavour combinations and beautifully presented but next time we'll avoid sitting under the speakers unless they play something a little less strident.
