Robin Redtummy Again

It has poured with rain for much of the day. I took Ollie dog for a walk in the big aluminium block of disused glasshouses. The robin was on its favourite tractor perch and sang its captivating subsong to us. It is possibly a young adult and it is thought that they sing very quietly without opening their beaks while they are learning their repertoire. As I understand it, this differs from the whisper song which is a polished repertoire sung sotto voce by adults in the breeding season. The fresh green in the background is asparagus foliage.
