Birthday Tea

My friend P had her birthday today so I put on an afternoon tea for her. It was hot today so we had it late in the afternoon, but it was still very warm, hence the fan. It was fun! And no need for dinner!

I bought the tea set in the Cotswolds last summer. Note the poodle tea-cosy - that was a gift from a friend several years ago. I’m not sure where or when I got the tiered cake stand. It may have been my mother’s. It folds up flat - very clever! The seersucker tablecloth is from my childhood - it was always on our kitchen table where we ate all our family meals. I think my mum bought it soon after we moved to the UK in 1972, so it holds special memories!
