Aster x frikartii 'Monch'

I love this Michaelmas Daisy - it flowers for months on end in late summer and autumn, attracts plenty of insects just when many other flowers are over and doesn't need any attention from me. The perfect garden plant! 

Today it provided a much needed splash of colour, which shone through the almost continuous rain, which was very heavy at times. Hopefully the moisture will stimulate the first crop of autumn fungi....
