Canal Day 10: 4 Bridges
Last night we parked fairly near the lock landing so we were ready for the Canal and River Trust staff to come along and unlock them. Locks aren't normally locked overnight but there have been water shortages so I think they are attempting to bunch up boaters so there is a one up one down system to save water.
We were first in the queue and got down the 12 locks in an hour and a half. Good going!
The rest of the day we could take it easy and just pootle along as we couldn't go through the Harecastle tunnel until tomorrow morning.
The blip shows a view down the Macclesfield canal of 4 bridges in quick succession. The first, bridge 74 looks like a footbridge followed by a road bridge, a rail bridge, then a minor road bridge.
