Millau, miaow

We legged it to Spain this morning! It did come as a surprise but DH had a sudden whim last night and booked a restaurant, so now we are in Girona after 400 Km driving. Dusty has been brilliantly well behaved. We'll done, that cat.

Some of the weather was just plain awful but we had a dry spell when we stopped for coffee at the iconic viaduct at Millau.

Once we hit Spain the weather improved rapidly and here it is hot (33°) and sunny with sufficient cloud to temper things a little. It's going to be a sweaty walk to the restaurant but it's a pleasant stroll across the river and through a wonderful park full of gigantic plane trees. Coming home it is likely to be very wet so the brolly is coming out to dine with us.

We now have a date for our Rendezvous back home and I feel as though a huge weight has been lifted. I was worried that we would come all this way only to turn round immediately and rush back. We don't have to be home until the 28th at 9 am. This is about the time that we were planning to be back in order to sign for delivery of our Cartes des Sejours.

We now have time and leisure in which to head to Alcossebre and potentially stay for a whole week. We may stay for a shorter time and favour a leisurely mountain route home. The jury is out. Anyway, stand by for a few piccies of the gloriously blue Mediterranean Sea. I'm dusting off my cozzie.
