Can You See Me?

That is the easy bit ...............
Can you guess what it is yet?  is the harder question.
There are more clues over here.
It is one of two pieces of equipment that were used in my father's occupation and were given to him when he retired.
I think they need a darned good clean but they are something I intend on taking more pictures of...at some point.

I have made a rather nice Yew dish today (even if I do say so myself) but I am not totally convinced about the finish (I am not very good at putting on wax) so I may give that another go tomorrow.

What seemed like an absolute age was spent harvesting the crop of hops for the son-in-law to use in his home brew.

So with all the standing my back is now making itself known.

There was a letter arrived from the health centre today telling me that my hypertension check-up was due.
It has been due for 2 years!
I have not to go and see a medical person thought - I have to take my blood pressure and fill in an on-line questionnaire and in 2 weeks I will get a call about it.
However, if I don't have a BP monitor I can go to the health centre, speak to the receptionist who will give me something to note the BP on and use the machine in the reception area. If the BP is too high (?) I have to speak to the receptionist again and hand over £10 as a deposit for the monitor I will be given to take my BP every day for a week before filling in the on-line questionnaire and going back to the health centre to hand back the monitor. I will then be contacted in 2 weeks to see how I am doing and give advice. At no point are my bloods going to be checked or my weight taken on a trustworthy set of scales.
So WTF are the medical staff doing while they are not actually seeing patients?
It is no wonder NHS Scotland is in such a sorry state.
