Once there was a silver fish
Who lived among the reeds
And dreamed a lot of fishy dreams
And did her fishy deeds
One day the fish thought to herself
This lake’s too small for me
Perhaps I’ll swim beyond the sky
And see what I can see
So she swam and she swam and she swam and she swam
And beyond the sky she went
She saw the moon and she saw the stars
And the earth’s blue firmament
And when at last she could swim no more
And all her strength was spent
She cast her fishy self aside
And towards that blue it went
It fell and it fell and it fell and it fell
Now here by the path it lies
Just a fishy shell in a garden bed
While beyond the sky she flies
