Back to the 1940s
This morning H and I walked from Sheringham Park over to Weybourne Station and back through the woods. It's the 1940s weekend this weekend and Weybourne station was already dressed for the event. It's a significantly scaled back event due to Covid, is only on the North Norfolk Railway and around the stations, but you can only access it with a train ticket which is £30 for the day - I'm not ready for packed trains, so I won't be going. Another sunny day, so I sat in the garden reading for part of the afternoon. I've attached a dragonfly picture as an Extra.
Day 549 / Day 60 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
Hospital hubs started giving booster jabs today for health and social care workers per NHS England. 1.4bn people have now had two jabs in China. The ONS says that between 3% and 11.7% of people who've had the virus still have symptoms 12 weeks later. Long Covid was found to be more prevalent in women, those aged 50 - 69, those with a pre-existing health condition, and those exposed with a high viral load. The GMB union has estimated that up to 70,000 care home workers in Eng might not be fully vaccinated by today's deadline. France has suspended 3,000 health workers who have not been vaccinated. The army might be called in to help tackle long waiting times for ambulances in Scotland. NI has requested up to 100 armed forces medics to help support 2 hospitals struggling with Covid. The UK's regulator has received over 30,000 reports of period problems after Covid vaccination, but the MHRA 'does not support a link' between Covid vaccines and the symptoms. Problems have also been reported after infection with the virus too.
