Another bit of crafting

After I made the basket, Z asked for place mats in a similar style.  Place mats need to be washable - though red wine or curry might be too much for these.  So I made this one - using cotton washing line as the rope basis, and winding with some of my many embroidery threads.  There's quite a few hours work here.  

Before making any more, I wanted to be certain that it was washable.  This has been in the washing machine, albeit only at 20 degrees, and has survived intact.  It's still a bit damp.
