An unexpected delight
In the butterfly reserve this morning I saw no butterlies, but I did see this. It came swooping low over my head then landed in the cedar tree on the perimeter track and took no interest in me whatsoever as I jumped about with sheer delight. It was very large with a huge wingspan or is that just in comparison to butterflies. I'm assuming it's a red kite, despite apparent lack of the requisite forked tail. (Blipper update, definitely a buzzard - thank you, all). I've seen them up here before but never close to. Of course it made my day.
And it seems we've got to the weekend, which is also lovely. Have a good one xx
