Purple Haze

These asters are a late highlight in our garden at the moment.

I did a bit of a tidy up this morning, cutting back the perennial sweet pea, the broad beans and the thalictrums. The green bin is now pretty full,

There is a lot to do over the coming weeks. There are still plenty of flowers, but also a real sense that there isn’t long to go before we reach winter. The days are shortening at an alarming pace. It didn’t used to bother me. It does now, which is why my attention is turning to planning for next Spring.
