Wound up in Wexford

Curly - just

We bought this plant back in June 2018.  It had lovely curly leaves, and subsequently developed a flower spike.

Then it died right back.  The blog to which I linked back in 2018 suggested that it wouldn't die back, and I thought it had died completely.  But it came back.

The following year, it grew again, though much less curly, but if my memory serves me correctly, it did manage another flower spike.

Since then, it has divided into two, and now three heads.  But this year in particular it was very late in producing the leaves.  (Though rereading the blog, I note that it is meant to be a winter plant).  The curliness of the leaves seems to be related to the amount of light they get, so given that it didn't actually produce any leaves until after the summer solstice this year, unsurprisingly, they are rather weedy, and minimally curly, even though it is on the window sill getting the most light in the house.

Well, I'll keep watering it and feeding it, as see what happens.

In other news, I've had a great fluting day - a trip down to Cambridge with a friend to see our flute teacher, Janna.  We each had an individual lesson, then we had a session together, playing a Trio sonata, with Janna playing the piano part.

And the goody from the project box folk arrived - a whole replacement box - very generous of them.
