Let’s play chess

Today the dutch chess competition started after 18 months of not playing. We had to travel to Bussum, where the home team welcomed us very warmly. I sat in the sun outside the building with another mother who was driving. the players sat behind larger tables than usual, with a sort of plexiglass screen in between, above the board. this made the distance to the end of the board much too great for E to place his pieces on the last rows, but the sporty opponent assisted E as a matter of course. It was a good day. E lost again, but his opponent was much higher qualified, so nothing to be ashamed off. The team as a whole also lost.
