Flatruet
This picture shows a typical slice of Flatruet - the high-level plateau we camped on in our van. As Sweden’s highest public road it is something of a draw for motoring tourists. It also helps that it links two rather lovely valleys much used by walkers and ski-tourists.
The mountains here are used by the Sami people for reindeer herding so it’s no surprise to see reindeer, either on the mountains or on the road. I saw a fairly large herd on this walk but you can’t/shouldn’t get too close so in my photographs the reindeer are mostly fuzzy dots!
Instead I used this picture of the parking area, with several camper vans parked. What? You can’t see them?
If you enlarge the image and look at the centre of the horizon you’ll find the vans, but this landscape just absorbs distant objects, be they reindeer or camper vans!
