The Joy of half marathons...

which is probably an oxymoron! I've marshalled at the Chester half marathon for several years and its never been as chaotic as today. The traffic management team redirected traffic directly in to oncoming runners. The marshal manning the road blocks was verbally abused by so many aggrieved drivers. Apart from the that, it was a lovely event with good weather, a noisy crowd and a slick water station.  Runners in fancy dress have declined over the years. Joy and her two friends were the only ones I saw in a tutu, ubiquitous in past years, regardless of gender.
