Other than a quick visit to the large ship (main) docking in the town, much of the morning was taken up with nearby Appledore's book festival. Authors, many well known, visit to talk about their lives and latest publications. They also sign their books, but nobody would autograph my Kindle.
Extra: in the afternoon we had a reasonable haul of blackberries from our walk, despite having to avoid several large bodied spiders.
