S shaped bend
It rained during the night - quite heavily. It was lovely to lie in bed listening to wind and rain…and no artificial sounds at all. It was still raining and very low cloud when we got up, but this gradually lifted, and then dropped again, through most of the morning.
We had a gentle morning, before heading out around 11am to see what photos we could get, and to get - hopefully - a walk. We headed down to Kylerhea (extra) where we watched the ferry going across the straits to Glenelg, and then headed up to Sligachan, where we were lucky to get some good weather for a walk into the Glen, which gave us the taste for more of the same in the future. On the way there, we stopped off a couple of times, although some photographs were ruined by rain on the lens filter…. Anyway, I was quite happy with this view out to sea.
Later on, although the weather stayed pretty changeable, the cloud gradually disappeared, and we watched some superb light from our room. Dinner was not available in this hotel tonight, so we were taken by minivan up to Duisdale, where we stayed in June, and we had dinner there. Unfortunately, they are a bit understaffed, and had taken on too many covers (including, I think, people who had come from outside), so the staff were subject to excessive stress. Although the food was generally excellent, we ended up coming back here for an after dinner drink.
Overall, a very relaxing day.
