Hoverfly tucking in

A busy day and a fairly sunny one.  I had a last minute call for a vacancy at the Pilates class and so quickly set off for it.  It was then back home to make sourdough and a birthday chocolate cake for our daughter.  She and her family arrived mid afternoon.  Just before they arrived I took the camera into the garden to take some shots of the bees and overflies that were making the most of the remaining flowers.

We had a quick trip to the beach which was looking lovely, the sea was blue and relatively calm, the sun shining with a coolish breeze.  A few people were swimming and others enjoying the beach.

In the evening we had a call with our son who seems to have a very nice flat in the centre of Birmingham.  He had joined a local gym and looks well settled in.
