Che and Kristin

Kristin is a force of nature. Literally. She was a park ranger who wanted more city children to have access to the great outdoors. She let her job go, got a Master’s in education, and started a non-profit organization offering city kids a chance to experience hiking, camping, kayaking, and boating. She matches kids with mentors who have the skills and want to share them. Now her first cohort of children is finishing high school, and many have been inspired to teach others the thrills and challenges of outdoor adventuring.

She is also very active in the abolition movement in Portland and has been blipped before wearing a much-admired T-shirt. 

Che (yes, named for Guevara) is her buddy.
