Tent making!

Yesterday the grandchildren made tents. All very different. Sammy, soon to be 10 yrs old, had made one constructed of garden sticks and bits of polythene/plastic type materials used as all weather coverings for patio furniture. (Not now used but stored in the garage.) One of those perennial “May come in useful” things that never make it to the tip!
(We have a lot of those!)
The middle one was a kind of “Granny what can we use?” one, as Libby 9 yrs and Bonnie 2 yrs, came outside and wanted to make one too.
This one was what my dad would have called “rather a Heath Robinson affair”, only I never did know who he was!
Two garden chairs were deployed, then a discussion about the covering.
A  large plastic table cloth was commandeered, which Libby propped up with a broom and the swing ball game. The ball then became their door bell. I had to squeeze the ball to “ring” it.
Patio chair cushions for a floor covering. They both enjoyed playing in there.
Toby, 5 yrs had already made one the day before which had to be packed away the previous night due to it being constructed with a pair of small steps, and a clothes airer, some garden sticks and clear polythene covering. Sammy’s could remain in situ.
I really love to watch them use their imaginations.
The family will be with us at least another week yet. Things are moving forwards towards their being able to rent the house they were buying till their chain collapsed on the day they were due to move last week.
