Winged seeds

The elm trees around here are looking very pretty now. First they have flowers, pale green and rather insignificant. Then come the lovely clusters of winged seeds and lastly the leaves (which turn colour in autumn).
 
Unfortunately the parrots love the flowers and seeds, and most of them end up on the ground, torn off and dropped by these wasteful feeders.
