Too early

Looking at the map and our route this morning we realised that we would be driving past a national trust property we love so decided we would get off early and spend a couple of hours in the garden and grounds. We got there ten minutes before it opened and had to wait behind the barriers until they let us in. It was wonderful, we grabbed a take away coffee and headed off to the walled garden. It must be the first time we have walked round with Rey few people around. Never managed to get a shot of the steps without people on them. The gardens were wonderful. Did a food shop in Hexham and having a night at our cottage before heading over to the Lakes for a week of walking. Sunny and warm all day.
