Photographic Poeticisms

Begone

Begone
Cruel Winter snow
Your time has passed
Look to the birds of the air
Awaiting their nesting time
Awaiting
Springs finger-touch of warmth
Gentling through hedgerow
Easing open
Petals of awaiting flowers
To welcome
Insect and bee
Spreading green arms of friendship
Rather
Than the white
Frost encrusted fingers of despair
Felt
By all who wander
Feather and fur-covered
Into thy icy domain
Or slip
Shoe-shod on pavement of ice
Cursing your name
Your children and forebearers
Awaiting
Like those debtors
Who awaited Scrooges demise
Your passing
Without moment's regret

Begone, I say, Begone

Let Spring
Unburden her shoulders
Of the new life
Carried upon bowed back
Let her
Release unto snow-blind eyes
The greenery
Of Summer's herald
Grass
Feast of those
So long tied
To last-years stored

Begone, I say, Begone

Winter away!

Spring Awake!
