Day 264/21. The Rig at Nigg
Oil rigs today in Nigg Bay, in the Cromarty Firth in eastern Scotland.
The area is used as a storage facility for unused oil rigs from the North Sea oil fields. The rigs are either refurbished or recycled at Invergordon on the north side of the Firth.
It's an amazing sight, perhaps 10 of the massive rigs laid up here today.
We are in Invergordon today on another day of great weather. We are lucky, it's not normally looking like this.....
Extra picture today gives a closer view of one of the rigs.
