Going up

The ewes getting lifted to the top deck. A busy day loading sheep into the lorry and into trailers to take them to where the lorries trailer was parked as the lorry couldn't get to the farm with said trailer on. So very sad seeing this farmers end of over 100 years tenancy in his family stock being sent away never to return. The years of breeding to get the best adapted sheep to the hill. The years of care and time put into them all. And the worst is any farmer taking on the tenancy will struggle to keep sheep on the place as its not fenced it was all run in the hefted system where the ewes knew where they lived and each generation carried on living in their places on the hill. Such a very emotional time so very hard.
