Four Freedoms

Today I moved across town from Hells Kitchen to stay at the UN Plaza and took a walk across to Roosevelt Island. Here in Four Freedoms park I took this. It was a beautiful day and it felt good to do random things. I felt a bit overwhelmed by the city and all the people, it seemed to magnify being here alone, so it was nice to go to a quieter place.
The four freedoms are Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Worship (or not), Freedom from Want (right of a decent standard of living) and Freedom from Fear. A set of ambitions for society which are as true now as when FDR spoke about them in the 1940's.
In the evening I decided to use my freedom to go to two comedy shows in the East and West Village. Nice to get out and better than sitting in the corner of a bar on your own.
