Tractor Tuesday- The Final Straw......
A dry day again.
A trip into school to drop off Littlemiss, then back home to finish carting bales of straw from the field behind the steading into the shed. Kev carting oat bales to a shed next door .
John the sparky back out at my grain dryer. It did a load on Sunday night no bother .Loaded it up first thing Monday morning, pushed the burner button , and nothing happened. After numerous attempts, a bit of swearing, a lot of faffing about checking fuses, rewiring one that had gone with some fuse wire as a temporary fix, more swearing ... still no joy. So bit the bullet , and phoned the cavalry . He thinks a control box may be goosed , how long it will take to get a new one is anyone’s guess. Bugger.
So no grain dried today , or yesterday.
And the blonde bull has been fighting out in the field and hurt his leg.
Took a trip down the road tonight to check the cattle. The arable neighbour down there has been cracking on with the seeder since the other night. Mind you it’s not often you get a great chance with the weather to sow winter crops. Glad ours is in and peeking through the ground !
This was the final ( maybe ) load of straw for this years harvest. At long last.
Now if only the grain drier would hurry up and work .......
