Piwakawaka (Fantail)

Walked the whole Nydia track over the weekend with fantails darting in and out of the bush around us and never got a decent photo of one.

Went outside this evening to cut a few branches off a tree in my yard and this wee chap came to visit. He darted around close enough for me to touch so I must have been disturbing bugs off the leaves that he liked eating.

I dashed back inside for my camera and managed to get him with tail spread. Well 'dashed' being comparative - I'm not moving too quickly today after the weekend's exertions.
