Tide’s Out

The gods decided to test my resolve for cold water swimming today when the early sunshine disappeared and the rain came. It looked and felt rather bleak and chilly but nothing venture nothing gained so I hassled daughter #1 to put on her bathing costume and we took the car down to the harbour pool to avoid stravaiging through the streets undressed in the wet.
Once immersed, it felt wonderful though not so much when we emerged into the chilly rain and had to drive home with chattering teeth.

We have one more dip tomorrow before I return to the big Smoke but hopefully I will have persuaded daughter#1 that sea swimming is the way forward when you have the sea on your doorstep. It’s not so easy for me being in the centre of town.
