Sea shells

We have been reading a book called ‘Gift from the Sea’ and tomorrow we are going to discuss it, so I got interested in looking again at some of the shells we picked up from the beach in East Africa - Mombasa - when we were living there some years ago. They are often larger than those we find on British beaches, and there is an amazing variety. The top right is in fact sea coral - which is not exactly a sea shell!
