This is St. Andrew Cathedral in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I attended mass yesterday there.

As you know, we have a new Pope. He is Pope Francis of Argentina, a 76-year-old man with only one lung. This could be just the burst of youth and vitality the Catholic Church needs.

What do we call Pope Benedict XVI now that he has left the Vatican? In transforming an office with an aura of divinity into something far more human, Benedict's decision has sent shock waves through the Vatican hierarchy. and puzzled the faithful and scholars, who have never experienced a transition like this. How about, Pope Classic?

Seriously, I pray Pope Francis makes the changes necessary to get the church back on track.
