A good day

She got up full of sparkle today. She has a little window on a Wednesday morning to have brief device time and messaged me very bubbly. She also messaged B very bubbly too. She loved her first dance class and was looking forward to her day ahead. Today she got to enjoy her "no proper lessons" Wednesday. Loads and loads of music, sport and drama. She then sent me a voice message later on saying "sorry Im not calling tonight, too much to do but I've had A GREAT day". She loved her bassoon and piano lessons then went on to say "actually everything was really fun".

I told her this morning that I have organised a little birthday gathering for her birthday in a few weeks. She's not had one in a few years and was delighted. She only saw a couple of her at home friends in the summer because of covid etc so I really wanted to make sure she see them this holiday - I'm quite conscious of helping her maintain her home friendships or the holidays will get quite lonely. And we now have a nicer home with space for them. So a birthday party seemed a fun option, just a movie night the weekend she comes back!

Her face is doing so well. When her eyes are open, you can now hardly see anything. When her eye is closed, there's still noticeable bruising around the eye socket but she's not aware of it and is very happy to be looking (and feeling) much better.

Covid cases are rising in the school and in the boarding house. They now have 5 cases in the house, including her room mate. I'm hoping it doesn't bring in further restrictions. They have already reintroduced masks everywhere except classrooms, bedrooms and sat to eat. They've cancelled assemblies and have restricted some year groups communal area access. I really hope they don't cancel this weekends exeat for the boarders.
