Both Sides Now
Waxcaps surveying at Longshaw again today. There were a few more fruiting than last time but still disappointingly few. To be confident of ID's, sometimes it's useful to look ay the underside of a fungus and we sometimes use a mirror so we don't have to resort to needlessly picking it. This one, as we suspected turned out to be an Entoloma, or Pinkgill. That's a bit of a misnomer as it's the spores that are pink, so the gills only look pink once the spores are ripe.
