Reidar Särestöniemi
I had a walk in the woods with Kirsti (and Peetu). She knew an excellent funnel chanterelle spot and we found tons of them!
In the evening Elina picked me up and we went to the Kimmo Pyykkö Art Museum in Kangasala to see Reidar Särestöniemi's exhibition.
Reidar Särestöniemi (1925 - 1981) was an artist from a small village in Lapland whose was known as Picasso of the North. The starting point of Särestöniemi's art is the nature of Lapland and the Lapponian myths and fotellings. The motives were often ants, mountains, lynx and reindeers. The colors are an important part of Särstöniemi's work, and he took the impression of European modernism, Russian art and the past cave paintings.
Then we had a dinner in the restaurant Pazzi in Kangasala.
