89 today

Mum's 89th birthday. We didn't go out in the end, I grabbed stuff from Waitrose instead and we ate at her house along with my youngest son. She was delighted to see him. She had visitors during the day today too - her brother & his wife.

Today has been manic. Work is insanely busy. Among the many things we're currently preparing for is a retirement celebration tomorrow, for 3 people who retired during lockdown (& we couldn't celebrate at the time). One of my 'extra' tasks today was to scrabble around in a stock room, hidden under the tiers of a tiered lecture theatre, for spare bottles of Cava to use up. Found loads - just not sure how long they've been there as they aren't dated. We think it's since about 2017. Hope they will be OK - guess we'll find out tomorrow.
