Dunham Massey
Monday
Having had virtually no sleep on the plane last night, we were rather late surfacing this morning, but we all enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Dunham Massey, a National Trust property west of Altrincham, and not far from Janet and John’s. We have visited a couple of times before, but it’s always lovely to visit. Roger’s Dad isn’t very mobile any more, but with the aid of his mobility scooter was able to get around with us. We wandered round the gardens first, where there was still quite a bit of colour left for late September, then we enjoyed a tasty lunch and a coffee outside in the sunshine - it really was a gorgeous day, far better than many a summer day we have been here! After lunch, we explored the deer park, where there are about 100 deer, and we probably saw 30-40 of them, some of them, like the lower central photo, really close - some of them didn’t seem perturbed by these humans walking around!
