Wild Geese

It was one of those days. First thing was a call to M, from the comissioning team, to get some more info and ask for a change of date for the 'mobilisation meeting' . My previous discussions about mobilisation have been with #1 soon taking about going to Iraq or Afghanistan. I think this will be less dramatic, or dangerous.

Then a meeting with the team to rejoice and start planning the next steps. The quality of the Teams call was rubbish and Land I eventually resorted to the phone. By the time that was over it was coffee time.

I was only supposed to be working till lunchtime but that ran on till 3.30 I updated plans and calendars and after a lifetime on hold got an answer from HSBC. Why do they tell you every 12 secs that your call is important when it clearly isn't?

In between the cat's regular treatment arrived followed by the window cleaner. I still don't know his name. It was mixed weather outside, sunny, rainy, windy, cloudy, clear. Had a chat with Y who is on holiday/panning for her retirement this week and was off to the hairdresser. There was much twittering outside from a whole lot of birds sitting on a roof over the back, the starlings I think. Then as I was filling up the bird/squirrel feeders (they are already digging up the bulbs I have just replanted) the sky was filled with honking as three skeins of geese flew south.

Break over it was time for my catch up call with the Principal (en route to Glencoe) then our monthly Zoomers, moved to a school night because some folk are off to Dr Hook tomorrow night. It was good to see folk and my quiz went down well. But there was still too much talk about Covid. The Canadian duo are still doing well and enjoying being with the grandkids at baseball or, soon, hockey However they will be back here in 2 months for their mandatory visa break.

We'd started half an hour later so it was after 8 before I ate. I was going to do prep for tomorrow's meeting but I watched 'A House Through Time' instead and dozed off near the end of ep 3. I'd also had to sort out some Airbnb stuff - refuse a request from people who wanted to quarantine here, respond to the Malaysian students who can no longer come because of travel restrictions, swither about the long-term stay request from the young guy who wanted 4:night's a week for work.I swithered so long he found somewhere else nearer the city centre, it wasn't meant. Then deal with another request that snuck into the free space from the cancellation before I could block it. Some days I feel I need a PA.

Willow has got very cuddly and seems to sense the onset of winter, spending more time asleep on the sofa, or on my lap having her ears stroked

Tomorrow is today!
