No campfire burning

The Youth Base Camp in the woods was deserted when we passed by on our woodland walk today. At least we were shelterd from the easterly wind in the woods. We have seen glimpses of the sun today and most of the snow has been blown from the trees. What happened to the heat wave we were expecting when we booked this site?
