Church of the Holy Rude, Stirling

I invested in a new second hand camera yesterday, from the fine market of ebay. It arrived this morning, what splendid service!
I wanted something to replace my 'slip it in your pocket' camera, and went for a Sony DSC HX60V. Old technology, but I liked the look of it, and it was going for a song. Obviously, had to try it out today.
I used one of its B&W modes on this fine statue of James Guthrie, which I thought looked quite gothic. The gravestone gives no further information. Obviously an eminent preacher of the parish. 
The extra is a bit cheerier: the Dahlias have finally made an appearance! Full house on the flowers, it's been a good summer.
