Tributes to Ann and John

Two new mini-buses have been named as a way of commemorating the part that two members of the Thurgoland Parish Council Transport Group played in helping to get this service up and running.  My partner Ann was the chair of the working group, she died in August 2020, just before the announcement that the bus would run for a trial period.  John, who brought a vast knowledge of bus timetables and how to get from places to place on public transport, died in Nov 2019.  The team have produced a booklet that will be available in the buses so people can learn about why they carry their name.

It was a lovely event which was well supported by members of the Crane Moor Chapel congregation, the Thurgoland Parish Council and John and Ann's family.  It's been an emotional week for me.  I read Ann's poem `delays possible ...' as my contribution.
